God's Work, Done God's Way :

"It cannot be too often repeated that the Holy Spirit is God's only worker. It is true that He chooses to work through His children, but our part is not the co-operation of help so much as that of willing consent. And even if we rate it higher, it is always His will that is done, and His power that it is done by, however active we seem to be. Otherwise it is not done at all.
God's blessing flows down to us through pipes empty and clean. Now a pipe, to form a channel, must not elect to stand upon its end to see and be seen, but lie down in the muck and be covered and forgotten. And every time we turn on a water tap, we should be grateful for the pipes that lie buried in the ground. Similarly our active part is to lie low, and let God work through us."

Affliction Is Good For You :

Isaiah 48:10  Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tried you in the furnace of affliction.

"Afflictions are ascribed in the Scriptures to purge our sin. In them God purges the dross and filth of the vessels of His house. The 'fire' tries the ways and works of men, and consumes the hay and stubble, and purifies the gold and silver."

How To Know God :

"Men boast of their [theology] degrees and diplomas and their passing examinations and so on. That is all very well, but it is not the way to know God more fully. It is through the Spirit, through the baptism of the Spirit that one comes to this fuller
knowledge. ... When Christianity becomes a subject in a seminary or in a university, well then I say we have really departed from the faith."
~Martyn Lloyd Jones

Also ..."If your doctrine of the Holt Spirit does not include this idea of the Holy Spirit falling upon people, it is seriously, grievously defective. .. The whole notion of the Holy Spirit falling upon people has been discountenanced and discouraged, and if you read many books on the Holy Spirit you will find it's not even mentioned at all, a fact which is surely one of the prime explanations of the present state of the Christian church."

Bringing On The Wrath Of God :

On todays ruling by the American Supreme Court HERE, Dr James White quite rightly comments:

"The USA has donned a t-shirt that says, "God's Wrath? BRING IT ON!"

Maybe the UK needs to order some of those T-Shirts ? Time will tell, nevertheless as one Brother points out HERE :

"God is still God and He is still on His throne. You have not been called to rescue a nation from bad politics. You have been commanded to preach the gospel to a lost and dying people. There are souls today that are rejoicing over this decision because it frees them to further pursue the sins of the flesh. Other rejoice because they see it as another nail in the coffin of Christian principles. Even more will just see it as a necessary change to everyone’s personal morality. Yet, none fully realize they are in rebellion against their Lord and King. They do not comprehend the wrath and judgment to come. My question to you is, do you care more about this decision because it makes your life more difficult, or because it reveals the heart of a people in desperate need of salvation in Jesus Christ? Let us be busy about our Father’s business. Let us be preaching the gospel."

Psalm 2:1-4  Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?   The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying, "Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us."   He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.

Preaching Does Not Equate To Salvation :

"That a teacher of the gospel should first be a partaker of it is a simple truth, but at the same time a rule of the most weighty importance… No amount of fees paid to learned doctors, and no amount of classics received in return, appear to us to be evidences of a call from above. True and genuine piety is necessary as the first indispensable requisite; whatever “call” a man may pretend to have, if he has not been called to holiness, he certainly has not been called to the ministry… Conversion is a sine qua non in a minister. Ye aspirants to our pulpits, “ye must be born again.”… Believe me, it is no child’s play to “make your calling and election sure.” The world is full of counterfeits, and swarms with panderers to carnal self-conceit, who gather around a minister as vultures around a carcass. Our own hearts are deceitful, so that truth lies not on the surface, but must be drawn up from the deepest well. We must search ourselves very anxiously and very thoroughly, lest by any means after having preached to others we ourselves should be castaways."

Problems With Evangelism :

"One of the problems of evangelism today is that Christians are not willing to stand nose to nose with the world and tell it like it is concerning Jesus Christ. The gospel is emasculated to accommodate everybody’s prejudice. We need boldness. It is sad that the boldness of Peter and John is far from what most of us experience in our lives. I pray to God that He will give us more boldness."
~John MacArthur

You Are Not Born A Homosexual :

1Cor 6:9-11  Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.  And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Evangelism, Modern Pulpits, Soteriology :

“Many of the pulpiteers of the past fifty years acted as though the first and last object of their calling was the salvation of souls, everything being made to bend to that aim. In consequence, the feeding of the sheep, the maintaining of a Scriptural discipline in the church, and the inculcation of practical piety, was crowded out; and only too often all sorts of worldly devices and fleshly methods were employed under the plea that the end justified the means; and thus the churches were filled with unregenerate members.
In reality, such men defeated their own aim. The hard heart must be ploughed and harrowed before it can be receptive to the gospel seed. Doctrinal instruction must be given on the character of God, the requirements of his Law, the nature and heinousness of sin, if a foundation is to be laid for true evangelism. It is useless to preach Christ unto souls until they see and feel their desperate need of him.” —A. W. Pink (1886–1952)

Women Preachers ? :

"When Boswell told Johnson one day that he had heard a woman preach that morning
at a Quaker’s meeting, Johnson replied, “Sir, a woman preaching is like a dog’s
walking on his hind legs. It is not done well; but you are surprised to find it done at
all.” We will add that our surprise is all the greater when women of piety mount the
pulpit, for they are acting in plain defiance of the command of the Holy Spirit,
written by the pen of the apostle Paul."

"Women are best when they are quiet. I share the apostle Paul’s feelings when he
bade women to be silent in the assembly. Yet there is work for holy women, and we
read of Peter’s wife’s mother that she arose and ministered to Christ. She did what
she could and what she should. She arose and ministered to him. Some people can do
nothing that they are allowed to do, but waste their energies in lamenting that they
are not called on to do other people’s work."

"In like manner, you Christian people who cannot talk,—the women especially,—I
mean that you cannot preach, you are not allowed to preach,—I want you to shine."

~C.H. Spurgeon

Do You Feel Weak Spiritually ?

Often the cause of our spiritual weakness is treated as an complex mystery, yet we only need to ask: "How much are we in the Word & prayer?"

Abuse Of Power By Police In Edinburgh :

Don Karns (Preacher) prior to this incident was touring England with JeremiahCry Ministries. What has already happened (not recorded) was the police officer has pulled the cord from Don's amplifier. During the time he spent in the car the police were going around the shops nearby to get witnesses to his supposed crime, when none were to be found Don was released without charge, nevertheless this incident shows once again that some police officers do not know the law regarding free speech and often go beyond the authority they are given. Don't Call Me Evangelical :

Perhaps the term "Evangelical" meant something way back in the day, but it is clear from the lack of fruit, lack of love for God's Word and lack of discernment in the so-called Evangelical churches in the UK today that it no longer holds any weight.
After all anyone can call themselves an Evangelical today, even the well known heretic Steve Chalke.
In relation, here is an excellent post from my Brother and friend Jon Gleason :
"The Evangelical Alliance surveyed 1800 “evangelicals” in the UK.
The survey found that biblical truth is vital to evangelical Christians, with 99 per cent agreeing that a church should faithfully teach the Bible as the true word of God.
If the “Bible is the true Word of God,” these evangelicals would accept this:
I Timothy 2:12
But I suffer (permit) not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

If the Bible is true, that verse must be true.  Women aren’t to be teaching or in authority over men in the church.  So whence this?
Nearly three-quarters (73%) of respondents agreed women should hold senior positions in the church, with 80% agreeing women should preach or teach.
Which is it?  Is the Bible true, or should women have senior positions, preach, and teach?  You can’t have it both ways….
99% want a church that faithfully teaches the Bible, but most aren’t getting that teaching, or they would know what it says.  “Evangelical” churches have adopted political correctness, watering down any Scriptures which make it uncomfortable to fit in with a godless society.   Many evangelicals give lip service to Biblical truth but seem to have no clue how far their thinking has drifted from the Scriptures.
Anyone who really believes it is God’s Word, and is true, should take responsibility to learn what it says.  British evangelicals need to start reading and studying God’s Word, and be alert to the pervasive political correctness in “evangelical” churches in the UK."

Rowan Williams Ex Archbishop Told To Repent :

The England JeremiahCry team while in Cambridge on the 10th May, after a wonderful day of preaching the Gospel to large crowds in the city, decided to stay until late and preach further to those outside hanging around the bars. They also each took turns holding different signs with Scripture on.

One of the preachers was holding a sign for all to see, Psalm 7:11... "God is angry with the wicked every day."

Out from nowhere heading in our direction came a very familiar figure, it was Rowan Williams the recently retired Arch Bishop of Canterbury, this is the senior bishop and principal leader of the Church of England, the symbolic head of the worldwide Anglican Church. Just before he was given this title while he was Archbishop of Wales this man was ordained a pagan druid priest.

As he walked past our team he was approached by a preacher who recognised him and proceeded to hand him a tract and the conversation that followed went like this :

Preacher: "Rowan, we are out here preaching the Gospel, would you do me the honour of taking one of these?"

Archbishop: Purple faced and extremely angry pointing towards the sign Ps 7:11 said, "That is not the Gospel"

Preacher holding sign: pointing to the reference Ps 7:11 replied, "This is in the Bible sir"

Preacher with tract: Pointing at Archbishop saying, "You need to be born again"

Archbishop: Even more purple faced and visibly angrier asked, "How do you know I am not?"

Preacher: "Because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks"

Archbishop turns on his heels and walks away quickly in opposite direction.

Preacher: Shouts down the street "Rowan, you need to repent, you are a hypocrite, an actor, a pretender"

The next visit to Cambridge 2 days later other members of the team were in conversation with Students from the University and they said that some of their fellow students were speaking about the encounter the Archbishop had with our team.

May God save the Archbishop for His glory alone, and give him a new heart with new desires.

Soli Deo Gloria.

Heard This One Before ?

For whatever set of reasons, there is a widespread belief out there (internet, popular books) that the New Testament canon was decided at the Council of Nicea in 325 ADunder the conspiratorial influence of Constantine.  The fact that this claim was made in Dan Brown’s best-seller The Da Vinci Code shows how widespread it really is.  Brown did not make up this belief; he simply used it in his book.
The problem with this belief, however, is that it is patently false.  The Council of Nicea had nothing to do with the formation of the New Testament canon (nor did Constantine).   Nicea was concerned with how Christians should articulate their beliefs about the divinity of Jesus.  Thus it was the birthplace of the Nicean creed.

Martin Luther On Homosexuality And Abortion :

“If I profess, with the loudest voice and the clearest exposition, every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christianity. Where the battle rages the loyalty of the soldier is proved; and to be steady on all the battle-field besides is mere flight and disgrace to him if he flinches at that one point.”

Concerning Video Games:

"Biblical principles must govern the believer's entertainment. Those principles include a call to spiritual maturity, a responsiveness to reality, an awareness of eternity, and a commitment to personal purity. Pastors and parents, children and teenagers, gamers and non-gamers must let Biblical priorities govern their entertainment choices. Doing so may mean turning off the game console. Yet doing so will mean more time for finding true life and joy in something (or more rightly, Someone) far greater than anything video games can ever offer--namely, God Himself."

The Greatest Calling :

The first and greatest calling of the Christian is to love God. As simple as it may seem, it still bears repeating that the Christian life is not a matter of keeping a list of rules, but of pursuing a love relationship with a living Person.
