Rowan Williams Ex Archbishop Told To Repent :

The England JeremiahCry team while in Cambridge on the 10th May, after a wonderful day of preaching the Gospel to large crowds in the city, decided to stay until late and preach further to those outside hanging around the bars. They also each took turns holding different signs with Scripture on.

One of the preachers was holding a sign for all to see, Psalm 7:11... "God is angry with the wicked every day."

Out from nowhere heading in our direction came a very familiar figure, it was Rowan Williams the recently retired Arch Bishop of Canterbury, this is the senior bishop and principal leader of the Church of England, the symbolic head of the worldwide Anglican Church. Just before he was given this title while he was Archbishop of Wales this man was ordained a pagan druid priest.

As he walked past our team he was approached by a preacher who recognised him and proceeded to hand him a tract and the conversation that followed went like this :

Preacher: "Rowan, we are out here preaching the Gospel, would you do me the honour of taking one of these?"

Archbishop: Purple faced and extremely angry pointing towards the sign Ps 7:11 said, "That is not the Gospel"

Preacher holding sign: pointing to the reference Ps 7:11 replied, "This is in the Bible sir"

Preacher with tract: Pointing at Archbishop saying, "You need to be born again"

Archbishop: Even more purple faced and visibly angrier asked, "How do you know I am not?"

Preacher: "Because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks"

Archbishop turns on his heels and walks away quickly in opposite direction.

Preacher: Shouts down the street "Rowan, you need to repent, you are a hypocrite, an actor, a pretender"

The next visit to Cambridge 2 days later other members of the team were in conversation with Students from the University and they said that some of their fellow students were speaking about the encounter the Archbishop had with our team.

May God save the Archbishop for His glory alone, and give him a new heart with new desires.

Soli Deo Gloria.
