Christians And Sexual Sin :

"A Christian man once told me, "I fell into this adulterous relationship without warning. It came out of the clear blue sky.” As I asked him questions, it became evident that he had actually cultivated a mind for immorality. His choices to feed his mind on immoral images made him an adulterer just waiting for an adulteress to come along. Sexual sin never comes out of the clear blue sky. It is often the result of a long process in which a mind susceptible to sin is granted unguarded exposure to immoral input."

Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. Col. 3:2

How absolutely essential is it that we have the proper mindset? It is a battle, fought each second we remain on this earth. Many Christians fail to rightly understand this, they are easy prey for the breeding ground of sin which starts in the thought life. We must continually feed upon God's truth, or we will suffer the consequences. Self discipline and battling against the flesh are a must, when we deliberately go where we shouldn't, the results are not good; King David is an example of this.

When we do sin, it only makes it worse to do as the man in this quote did, he does not take accountability for his actions. In stating 'it just came out of the clear blue sky', it's painfully obvious he does not understand the origin of sin...his own heart.
