Debunking Joyce Meyer's Power Thoughts :

1Timothy 2:12-14  I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.

1. Priceless! (initial thought)
2. A real encouragement to seek biblical wisdom & not get Joyce Meyer-like in my thinking..ever!

You probably don't quite realise how helpful this stuff is.

Have previously been swallowed by New Thought/Law of Attraction/the Secret which lead to extreme mental illness which has lasted nearly 2 years now. Am trying to claw my way out of it by now finding out that this stuff is not real and thoughts alone don't shift physical reality. Thank you.

Thank you.

I don't know what anyone can do (apart from convincing me of the above!) but your offer touched my heart and for whatever reason made me think I should reply.

People think these things are feel-good and harmless, but they're not. There's a major flip side to them. My problem came about when I wanted to get more in touch with Christianity and found myself getting very absorbed with an American preacher online- one very much like Joyce Meyers it seems- fairly standard Christianity on the outside but pretty much New Thought on the inside.

Of course, if the human has the power to heal, change situations, attract money, etc. through their own 'faith', visualisation, thoughts and emotions, what about the flip side? One day this preacher implied we could also attract bad things... and a wave of terror washed over me to become Obsessive Compulsive Disorder so bad it lead to almost constant panic attacks at its peak, so scared that an unwanted thought or image could 'create' something.

It sounds stupid perhaps but that's what so many of these people believe and I'm having trouble pulling it out by the root and assuring myself I can't cause harm to myself by accident, through my mind.

Thank you once again for the video- it seems that the Bible doesn't actually have anything in it that lines up with these beliefs at all.
