Churches That Permit Carnality :

Recently a "church" in this area (Workington), made a mockery of Christ's sacrifice and baptized 2 individuals who co-habit (fornicate). In the hope that they might visit this site here is a video the people from that church need to watch :

Everybody has to start somewhere. Jesus said leave your nets and follow me. Wherever you are, whatever your lifestyle. Maybe their financial situation doesn't permit them to live separately. Shame on your church for baptizing you, hypocrite. It is not up to you, but for God to judge. For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.

I hope you actually took the time to watch the video above.

In response to your comments :

Anonymous said...."Jesus said leave your nets and follow me. Wherever you are, whatever your lifestyle."

Actually, the first words out of Jesus' mouth when He began His ministry was "Repent..." (Turn from sin).

Anonymous also said.. "Maybe their financial situation doesn't permit them to live separately."

We should not be making any excuses for sin, look at what the word of God says here :

1Co 6:9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
1Co 6:10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

God is a holy God and He will not be mocked. What this "church" has done is give unbelievers a false impression of what it means to follow Christ, and in their mistaken view has gave those they baptized a false assurance of what it means to be a Christian. Biblically what they should have done is practiced church discipline.

1Co 5:11 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler--not even to eat with such a one.

Anonymous also said "It is not up to you, but for God to judge."

Jesus said John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Anonymous also said .."Shame on your church for baptizing you, hypocrite. "

A hypocrite is a pretender, I am not pretending, this "church" however, is pretending to honour Christ while at the same time playing down the very sins that He was beaten and crushed for. This is a slippery slope and not reflective of the church Jesus Christ died for, they may as well baptize unrepentant peadophiles and murderers, rapists, adulterers and homosexuals, after all "Everybody has to start somewhere."....Right ???

I agree with you Dale, well said!
I certainly struggle with certain practices in the C of E, in particular the practice of baptizing illegitimate infants, whose unmarried parents drawl "I turn to Christ, I repent of my sin" in tones most unconvincing. And besides, they said the same at the baptism of the previous bastard, and had they really meant it, one presumes they would have married a.s.a.p!

If infant baptism is justified as entry into the covenant community, then surely it is appropriate only where parents give evidence of genuine conversion?

Oh for a purer C of E!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Helen, great to see you back here.

You are 100% correct, if those people repeating those words of repentance meant it, they would have made it their priority to get married and obey the God they profess to love.

We should remind them Jesus Christ said :

Unless you repent, you will perish! Luke 13:3

I should also let you know that this church in Workington that made a mockery of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ was in fact Bridge church, not any local Anglican church, although they are also well capable of the same sort of behaviour.

The CofE I believe is an apostate church mostly.

We should pray for more Reformed Baptist Churches in Cumbria.

God bless you.
